Episode 37: Anthony Rossomando is a song writer and guitarist who is perhaps most famous for his work with the English rock band The Libertines and for writing (with Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt) the achingly beautiful song "Shallow" which became the centerpiece of the most recent remake of A Star Is Born.  In this first part of a two part interview he shares stories of the early years: his musical influences, his time in the Boston area band The Damn Personals and tales of fear and loathing and excess on the road as a rock star.

Episode 38: In part one we explored his early years and life on the road with The Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things.  In part two, it all stalls out, the money dries up and what in retrospect looks like a long quest for meaning somehow leads to sobriety and the now legendary collaboration with Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.  I had - in truth - forgotten how powerfully Shallow hit me when I first heard it in A Star Is Born, but man— this conversation brings it all back.  Wont’ you please welcome Anthony Rossomando.

Episode 39: Kari Assad’s journey thru acting and stand up eventually takes her thru a somewhat different approach to recovery….

Episode 40: DELETED.

Episode 41: Renee Santos was moved into the foster care system in Massachusetts by the time she reached her early teens but went on to receive a full scholarship from Emerson before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career and eventually discovering standup. She has her first stand up special - Outside The Box - available everywhere.

Episode 42: Carder Stout recounts his journey from an affluent Georgetown childhood to a dark stint of homelessness in Venice, CA working as a driver for the Shoreline Crips - a journey memorialized in his new memoire - Lost In Ghost Town.

Episode 43: Jimmy Shin shares his unlikely journey from lawyer to stand up comedian.

Episode 44 : David G. grew up in a religious cult where he learned to hide his family’s membership in the cult - a talent for deception that would enable him to keep his alcoholism secret from everyone close to him… except himself.

Episode 45: Debra DiGiovanni is a very, very funny stand up comedian whose pot habit led her to keep downsizing her life until it started interfering with her career. She was worried that getting sober might hurt her comedy but in truth it has only made her more funny.

Episode 46: Robb Kelly started drinking at 9 years old to overcome stage fright. He eventually graduated to a handle a day habit that led to an act of violence that ended his marriage and led to a stint of homelessness in Manchester, England. Eventually, he was saved by what can only be described as a supernatural encounter.
